Veterinarian

Dr Elmien Kotze

Dr Elmien Kotze qualified from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria in 2006. She is mostly kept busy caring for wildlife and her meticulous attention to her work ensures only the best service for her wildlife veterinary operations. Dr Elmien consults at Oribi Animal Clinic when one of our other vets are on leave. Apart from her work as a veterinarian she enjoys spending time with her friends.

Dr Eve Pearse

Dr Eve Pearse qualified from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria in 2000. For as long she can remember, she always wanted to work with nature in some way. As a child her focus was always on animals. Her free time is spent with Trevor, her two-legged other half, her tiny dashing dog Dash and Musi, her huggable and ever hungry cat.

Dr Gerrit Pretorius

Dr Gerrit Pretorius qualified from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria with distinction in 2022. A local to our area, Dr. Gerrit’s roots run deep as he grew up on a dairy farm near Humansdorp and attended Nico Malan High School. Passionate about animal welfare and with a keen understanding of rural life, Dr. Gerrit is thrilled to expand our services to include comprehensive care for large animals in our community.

Animal Health Technician

Emma-Lisa Steyn

Emma-Lisa qualified from UNISA as an Animal Health Technician in 2016. In the years leading up to her studies she worked and volunteered at various wildlife sanctuaries in South Africa. She assists with the general care of the patients entrusted to our care and is the practice manager. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her family and 3 dogs.

Behaviourist & Veterinary Assistant

Jo-Anne Richter

Jo-Anne joined Oribi Animal Clinic in August 2015. A qualified Animal Behaviourist and Equestrian, she also has a wealth of experience in the nursing and care of animal patients. She is our in-house Puppy School Manager and trainer. She completed a Small Animal Nursing Diploma Level 4 in 2016.

Animal Care Assistant

John Tilese

John joined Oribi Animal Clinic in May 2011. He helps the vets with the animals in the hospital, makes sure that they are always comfortable and ensures that the practice is clean and hygienic. His sense of humour on a daily basis keeps everyone smiling and nobody will ever find him down.

Thompson Dasa

Thompson was born to work with animals and joined Oribi Animal Clinic in December 2011. He assists in the hospital with x-rays, the sterilisation of surgical instruments and the handling and care of our patients. No matter the day, he always brings a smile and a friendly atmosphere to our clinic.

Receptionist

Nicolet Kramer

Nicolet joined the Oribi team in January 2020. After working at Nedbank for eleven years she decided it was time for a new challenge and applied for the reception position at Oribi. In her free time, she enjoys baking and spoiling her kids with these homemade treats. Her family also consists of four cats and three dogs that she spends much of her time with outside of work.

Lynette Terblanche

Lynette joined the Oribi team in March 2021. After working as a manager at various other shops she decided to apply for the position at Oribi. In her free time, she loves walking on the beach with her dogs and spending time with her family. Her family also consists of three dogs.

The Practice Cat

Rocket

Rocket, the practice cat, is one of the most important members of the Oribi team. He can be found playing around reception, sleeping on one of the chairs in the office or waltzing about the practice demanding attention from his minions.
